Dover, DE — Jett Away in the $24,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace and Nuclear Power in an $18,500 Mares Winners Over Pace used similar styles, as both rolled to 1:534 victories in the Tuesday, March 30 feature races over a sloppy track at Dover Downs.

Jett Away pulled away from her rivals in the stretch in the Dover feature.

At the top of the stretch it appeared a duel between two distaffs, Armbro View (Jim Morand), who led from the start, and last week’s winner Crossfire N (Mike Cole), who ranged up from sixth on the backstretch to race alongside for the lead. Meanwhile, Bret Brittingham got George Brem’s Jett Away into high gear and the four-year-old daughter of Dream Away overpowered her rivals by drawing off for a 1:534 victory. Crossfire N held on for second in front of Armbro View.

The victory is the third in four races and fourth in eight starts for Jett Away, who also has a second and a third in 2004.

Nuclear Power was alone at the wire in the Tuesday sub-feature at Dover.

William Moffett Inc.’s Nuclear Power also used a strong move starting on the final turn to blow past the leaders midway through the lane to score a 1:534 victory in the $18,500 sub-feature for Ross Wolfenden. Ann Other Porsche (Kevin Lare) cleared traffic in the lane to finish second in front of Ezy Dell N.

Trish Bichler’s Fritzie Dot Com got up for Travis Bowman to win a $13,200 Delaware Pace in 1:551. That’s Final and Lilianna Beauty (Eddie Davis) were second and third respectively.

Roger Plante drove Seasin into the lead after the quarter and continued to set the pace in a surprisingly easy 1:544 win by four lengths in a $12,500 Mares Pace. Pelicanrama A (Jim Morand), making her first start in three months, finished second. Extravagant Sahbra (Travis Bowman) was third.

Jim King scored his second win of the night, steering John Lohnes’ Mic Mac Jack home in 1:59 to win a $12,000 featured trot. Ringside Leah (Leah Vandervort) was runner-up with GTO (Jim Morand) third in a photo.
