Kawartha’s race card curtailed

from Kawartha Downs

Fraserville, ON — Kawartha Downs was forced to cancel Saturday night’s (Sept. 24) race card following the second race due to electrical issues which compromised the track’s lighting on the backstretch and led to a safety issue for the horses and drivers.

A great crowd was on hand for what was to be the second last card of racing for 2016.

The winner of the first race was Jetset Charmer who notched his second straight win with Gord Brown up while Rob Doyle and Statement recorded a head victory over Catrina Royale in the second.

Racing is due to resume next Saturday with a 7 p.m. post time and an appreciation night scheduled with Hands On Horses scheduled and lots of prizes and giveaways throughout the evening.
