Digital Z Tam zoomed to a 1:49.4 win in the $200,000 KYSS final for sophomore pacing colts.

Driven by Mike Lachance, Digital Z Tam followed fellow 2-1 favorite Real Class and Dave Palone into the stretch, but passed the duo as Real Class made a break, and went on to win over Priceless Edition and Andy Miller. Digital Z Tam is a Cambest gelding trained by Pat Lachance and owned by MJGB Racing Stable.

In the $200,000 KYSS final for freshman colt pacers, Warning Zone and Ron Pierce came up the rail to beat 2-5 favorite MCA and Palone in 1:52. The judges investigated whether Warning Zone went too far inside en route to his win, but they determined that MCA had drifted in and forced Warning Zone further inside.

After a visit to Canada to race in the She’s A Great Lady stakes, Beachy Girl returned to The Red Mile to capture the $200,000 KYSS final for 2-year-old filly pacers in 1:52. Ricky Macomber, Jr. drove the Real Desire filly for trainer Joe Seekman, who co-owns the filly with Hal Hewitt. Beachy Girl beat a resilient Cuz She Can and Palone at the wire.

“I don’t like them that close,” Hewitt said with a laugh after collecting his biggest check as an owner.

Prayer I Am won his KYSS final for 3-year-old colt trotters in 1:52.4 with John Campbell aboard. Kevin Thomas trains Prayer I Am, a Like A Prayer colt, for owner Roy Dobbins. Dobbins said Prayer I Am is eligible to the Galt and the Matron but he may supplement his colt to the Kentucky Futurity.

Debbie Hall wired her 2-year-old trotting filly foes in her KYSS final, winning in 1:57 over 1-9 favorite Global Glamour and Palone. Fred Grant trains Debbie Hall, a Like A Prayer filly, for owner and co-breeder Walnut Hall Ltd.

Charmaine AS is the KYSS champion for 3-year-old trotting fillies. The Like A Prayer filly won in 1:55 with Andy Miller aboard for trainer Anette Lorentzon and owner ACL Stuteri.

Shaman Hall was lucky to even make the KYSS final for 2-year-old trotting colts, let alone win it, but the Like A Prayer colt was driven to victory by Dewayne Minor in 1:58. According to Rolf Ebener, who trains Shaman Hall for owner Klaus Ringl of Austria, Shaman Hall had to win his KYSS leg on August 30 in order to make the final, which he did at odds of 15-1.

U All BB grabbed the KYSS final for sophomore pacing fillies in a lifetime best 1:50.2 for Tim Tetrick. Jim Arledge, Jr. trains the Allamerican Ingot filly for Fred Monteleone Stable.

Little Miss Dragon and Campbell won the $161,500 Nadia Lobell final in 1:51 in just her sixth start this year. According to Noel Daley, who trains the Dragon Again filly for Adam Victor and Son Stable, Little Miss Dragon was training down well before her sophomore season, but developed an allergy to alfalfa hay that caused her to lose some training time.

“We have to give her straight timothy hay and watch what electrolytes we give her now,” Daley said.

Daley said Little Miss Dragon will stay in Lexington for the Grand Circuit meet. Last year she won a Bluegrass division and finished second in the International Stallion Stakes at The Red Mile.

Gerri’s Joy and Campbell won the lone $10,000 Moni Maker elimination for 3-year-old filly trotters. The top nine finishers will face Possess The Magic in next week’s final. Falls For You finished 10th and was eliminated.
