Nopareil Kronos — a full sister to Hambletonian Oaks favorite Lantern Kronos — fetched the highest price at the Kolgjini Yearling Sale, held Monday night in Sweden.

Nopareil Kronos was sold for 1.5 million Swedish Kroner — or $230,000.

Another filly reached a six-figure price (in Swedish Kroner) and she was also sired by Viking Kronos. Nice Kronos was sold for 1.25 million Kroner — or $192,000.

51 yearlings were sold for an average price of $45,889!

German Roland Hülskath is European champion

At Charlottenlund Racetrack in Denmark and at Halmstad Travet in Sweden, 11 of Europe’s best harness drivers met Sunday and Monday to battle for the title of European Champion Driver.

Roland Hülskath of Germany took the title, followed by Birger Jorgensen of Denmark, while Norway’s Eirik Höitomt took third and Sweden’s Bjorn Goop finished fourth.

This quartet thus secured themselves a spot in the field for the World Championship next year.
