Two more fall Late Closer series came to a close at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Wednesday afternoon.

Trainer Mickey Burke produced the first and second place finishers in the Navratilova-Evert Pace final for 3 and 4-year-old fillies and mares. Leavea Smile, driven by Yannick Gingras, held off her stablemate Winbak Isabella by a half-length to get the victory and the winner’s share of the $25,000 purse. All Night Long finished third. Leavea Smile is owned by Hutt Racing Stable of Paoli, Pa.

In the $26,500 final of the Michigan-Ohio State trot, Red Dragon out-dueled Marneis in the stretch to get the win in 1:56.1. The 3-year-old colt was driven by Mark Gingrich for trainer Eddie Hart and owner Peter Rhulen of New York, NY. Touche Hanover was third.

The Great Rivalries Late Closer Series at Pocono wrap up on Friday with the finals of the Ali-Frazier pace and the Army-Navy trot.
