Lightning can’t ‘Stahl’ Ryan

by Keith Gisser, director of publicity, Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — The track was sloppy and there was thunder and lightning in the vicinity, but that didn’t ‘Stahl’ the racing at Northfield Park on Wednesday, September 26, as second leading driver Ryan Stahl won the first four races of the night.

He took the opener with 18-1 Rock-n-patty and then scored with Mystical Victor ($6.00), Rinestone Gatlin ($5.60) and 2-5 Eagle Cluff Attack. He also won the seventh race with No Worries Mate.

Matt Kakaley took both ends of the late double, which yielded $138.20. McEnroe Blue Chip, a half-brother to the great Gallo Blue Chip, scored in the penultimate 12th race at 14-1 and Kakaley piloted 8-5 favorite Classy Man to a win in the nightcap.
