Delaware, OH — Wagering on the first of two Little Brown Jug future wagering pools began at 12 Noon Thursday (Sept. 8) and continues through 11 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 11) at racetracks and internet sites throughout North America and Europe.

Betting Line has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite. The brown son of Bettor’s Delight has won 10 straight starts and has banked more than $1.4 million. Betting Line is owned by trainer Casie Coleman’s West Wins Stable, Christine Calhoun and Mac T. Nichol.

The Ontario based Betting Line won the $780,000 North America Cup, $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine and the $300,000 Carl Milstein Memorial. The win in the Milstein Memorial was the colt’s first trip outside of Canada and his only start on a half-mile track.

The 3-1 second choice is the $500,000 Messenger Stake champion Racing Hill. The Roll With Joe colt has won $1,345,028 for his owner, Tom Hill. The ultra-consistent colt has finished on the board in all 11 seasonal starts.

Control The Moment was tapped as the third choice at 4-1. Due to this morning’s announcement that the son of Well Said was retired due to injury, Control The Moment will be scratched from the future wager. The colt had four wins on the season, including the $732,050 Meadowlands Pace and the $320,000 Cane Pace.

A team of harness racing analysts and handicappers have selected a group of 14 colts and geldings. The horses in each of the pools are listed in alphabetical order. The mutuel field consists of the remaining horses eligible to the 71st edition of the pacing classic.

The minimum future wager is $1 and all future wagers are win wagering only. The winner of each pool will be determined by the official first place finisher in the 2016 Little Brown Jug presented by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association to be raced Thursday afternoon (Sept. 22).

The record payout for the LBJ Future Wager is P-Forty-Seven (2005 – Pool #1) at $377.80.

The second future pool will be from Sunday (Sept. 18) through Wednesday (Sept. 21).
