Harrington, DE — Harrington Raceway’s 64th season of live racing will end its reprieve and resume Sunday, August 16.

Racing will continue on a Sunday through Thursday schedule. There will be 15 races on the opening day program, which will feature a Family Fun Day, with a variety of free entertainment. There will be pony rides, face painting and more available on the first floor of the grandstand. There will also be a hat giveaway (while supplies last) beginning at 4:45 p.m., also in the lower grandstand.

Driver Tony Morgan, who is out of action Sunday at Harrington, but will return to his normal driving schedule Monday, returns as the leading driver with 140 wins. Ross Wolfenden is second with 105, while Mike Cole (66), George Dennis (64) and Jim Morand (61) round out the top five.

Tim Crissman is atop the trainer standings with 43, while brothers Les and Wayne Givens are tied for second with 37. Dylan Davis (32) and George Dennis (16) complete the top five.

Simulcast renovations are nearing completion for a September re-opening as the Murphy’s Race and Sports Book. Currently a temporary simulcast facility has been set up adjacent to the west end of the grandstand.

The meet’s signature event is the third annual Bobby Quillen Memorial, which will have a $315,000 (est.) Final on October 26. Last year’s winner, Mister Big, is one of 46 nominees for the event, which includes a number of the sport’s top older pacers.
