Longshot Carson Jane wins Night Styles prelim

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – February 19, 2004 – Carson Jane [$44.20, $15.00, $7.40] posted her first win of 2004 with a one and three-quarter-length tally in the sixth race, the second of two $16,000 divisions of the Night Styles on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.

Carson Jane won the second of two $16,000 divisions of the Night Styles.

Carson Jane, driven by Jay Randall, paced the mile in a lifetime best of 1:54.4, catching the White Ruffles winner, Midnight Art [$5.20, $3.60], in the final strides. It was two lengths back to Sheer Sahbra [$12.20] in third.

Trained by Randy Giglio, Carson Jane races for Richard and Dominick Tullo of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The victory pushed the career bankroll for the four-year-old Cambest mare to $46,971.

In the third race, the first division of the Night Styles, a three-week series for four-year-old pacing mares, even-money favorite Four Starzzzz Hope [$4.00, $2.40, $2.40] won by a head over Maple Lady [$2.40, $2.20] in 1:54.2. Traker Dream [$3.40] was four lengths back in third. It was the second straight win for Four Starzzzz Hope, driven by Mike Lachance and trained by Dave Sabatelli, for the FS Starzzzz Stables of Glenwood, New Jersey and Alan Cohen of Weston, Massachusetts.
