Lookatthoselegs sets distaff track record at Running Aces

from Running Aces Harness Park

Columbus, MN — Lookatthoselegs established a new Running Aces track standard for pacing mares on Tuesday night, June 24, shaving one-fifth of a second off Imalooker’s 1:56.1 record.

Owner-trainer Bruce Krause’s 7-year-old Sportsmaster mare sped through fractional clockings of :27.1, :56.1 and 1:25 before stopping the teletimer in 1:56 for new driver J. D. Perrin. While this was the winner’s first victory of the season in 19 starts, it was her 17th career triumph. The classy mare has averaged over $800 per start in her career and has banked just under $10,000 already this year.

“This was the sixth straight start she has been on the front end,” said an elated Krause, “but the first time the driver let her roll instead of backing off the half. She usually gets nipped in the final few strides, but tonight she was able to bottom them out!”

A pair of Queen of Columbus Series divisions were also contested Tuesday night with Miraclescamhappen (Evan Coblentz) and Golightyourworld (John DeLong) coming out on top. For Golightyourworld, owned by Horsemans Financial Agency, the win completed a four-race sweep of the preliminary legs in the series. The $6,000 championship final is slated for Sunday, June 29.
