Ft. Washington, MD –– A pair of $3,000 divisions of the Maryland Sires Stakes for three-year-old trotters are set to take center stage at Rosecroft on Friday.

In the first division for colts and geldings, Shirley Shand’s Ypres will open on the board as the 1-5 morning line favorite. The son of Go Get Lost makes his eighth start of the year, and with over $48,000 in lifetime earnings, has the most experience of the field. Last week at Rosecroft, Ypres trotted in 1:57.2 in a conditioned non-winners event, finishing only a half length off of the winner. Trainer Kenneth Shand has assigned Kelly Staten to drive, and the duo will leave from the rail position.

Mr Tom (John Wagner), Spotter McTrotter (Syl King, Jr.), Loud Speaker (Donnie Russell), Snazzy Jazz (Bill Long) and I’myoursmokingun (Victor Kirby) complete the field.

At 8-5, Leanna Rose heads the second division for trotting fillies. Trained by Josh Green, the daughter of Go Get Lost will face the starter in post eight with Donnie Russell at her lines. After earning five wins from ten starts last year and over $32,000, this race marks her 2005 debut for owners William Brent Outten and Virginia Fisher.

Maizy Do Rite and Sail With Me, both owned by Terry Kibler and Marvin Sigler, face the field as an 9-5 entry. Maizy Do Rite, leaving from the rail with reinsman Cliff Green in the sulky, has earned three wins from six starts this year. The Go Get Lost filly posted consecutive victories in her last two starts.

Rosecroft’s leading driver John Wagner will rein Sail With Me from post three. The daughter of Program Speed, making her second pari-mutuel start of the year, comes into this race off of a winning qualifying mile.

Sail With Me earned over $32,000 in 2004 with a record of 2-1-2 across the board from nine starts.

Both fillies are from the barn of top trainer Manley Brown, Jr.

Rounding out the field are Princess Nina (Kelly Staten), Jammin Nicki (Tate Lewis, Jr.), Go Get Sarah (Wayde Marsh), Whitesville Penny (Sam Belote) and Red Oak’s Barb (Victor Kirby).

Harness racing action for the 15 race slate begins with a first post of 7:20 p.m. at Rosecroft on Friday.
