Mayotte guides Ericskarri to General Brock win

by John Siscos, for the Woodbine Entertainment Group

Toronto, ON — Ericskarri, given a razor-sharp drive by Roger Mayotte, established command on the first turn and was never challenged in taking the C$52,800 final of the General Brock Trotting Series on Thursday night (March 15) at Woodbine.

Lance Hall was in front off the wings, but before the turn Mayotte astutely guided his Angus Hall gelding to the lead through an early split of :28.4. Through steady middle fractions (:58.4, 1:29.1), Ericskarri continued his easy beat to a 2-3/4 length tally over Lance Hall and Digital Image, who was edged in the place photo.

Trained by Brad Maxwell for owner-breeder PVC Management Inc. and Glenn Van Camp of Port Perry, Ericskarri went the mile in 1:57.2 in the race for 4-year-olds. It was his second win of the season and eighth lifetime, for career earnings of $105,492.

Ericskarri paid $6.90, $4.30 and $2.90 across the board as the public’s choice and combined with Lance Hall ($7.70, $4.70) for a $55.40 exactor. Digital Image paid $3.40 to show and rounded out a $227.20 triactor.
