Lexington, KY — The 2-year-old pacing colt MCA sharply won his third straight Kentucky Sires Stakes (KYSS) leg on Thursday night, August 30, at The Red Mile. He looks to be the overwhelming favorite in the $200,000 KYSS final on September 9.

MCA won his third straight Kentucky Sires Stakes leg, one of seven wins for driver Dave Palone.

Dave Palone posted one of his seven wins behind MCA, a Real Desire colt, in 1:53.4. He is trained by Mickey Burke for co-owners Sylvia Burke, Randy Ringer, Tom Cherichello and Larry Karr. MCA, who has now earned $60,900 in purses, was a $45,000 yearling bred by Albert Adams.

Global Glamour and Debbie Hall were set to have a rubber match in their $50,000 KYSS leg, but Debbie Hall made an early break and Global Glamour cruised to a 1:58.3 score. Palone drove Global Glamour for trainer Peter Foley and co-owners James McLaughlin and Lynne Foley. Global Glamour, by Like A Prayer, was a $30,000 yearling buy from breeder Kentuckiana Farms.

Palone steered Warning Zone to a 1:52.4 win in his $25,000 KYSS leg. Warning Zone, by Jate Lobell, is trained by Virgil Morgan, Jr. for Mark Wooten and Melvyn Aylor. Winbak Farm bred Warning Zone, a $25,000 yearling.

Like the three winners above, Twin B Preacher also turned in a repeat KYSS win in his $25,000 leg. Trainer Warren Harp drove Twin B Preacher to a 2:00.3 win at 8-5 odds. Last week he won at 113-1.

“I didn’t want to sit too long with the horse to beat (fourth-place finisher Like A Dream) on the front end,” Harp said about his trip. “(Twin B Preacher) is a high-speed horse. I didn’t even talk to him or touch him with the whip. I just was attuned to his ears to make sure they were up.”

Joy Lancaster and Joan Harp share ownership in the $25,000 Like A Prayer yearling bred by Twinbrook Limited.

Cuz She Can broke her maiden with a 1:54 KYSS score. Palone drove the Cambest filly for trainer Roy Dinges and owner Perfect World Enterprises. Walnut Hall Ltd. bred Cuz She Can.

Age Of Consent copped her KYSS leg in 1:55.2. Marcus Johansson drove the Real Desire filly for trainer Judy Roegner and owner John Grozenski. Age Of Consent was a $12,000 yearling bred by Perretti Farms.

Shaman Hall surprised in his KYSS leg at 15-1 odds. Dewayne Minor drove the Like A Prayer colt to a 2:01 maiden breaker for trainer Rolf Ebener and owner Klaus Ringl. Walnut Hall Ltd. bred Shaman Hall.

These 2-year-olds will meet again in the $200,000 KYSS finals on Sunday night, September 9. The 3-year-old finals will also be held as well as the Nadia Lobell final. Post time is 6:30 p.m.
