Columbus, OH — The private takeover of Meadowlands Racetrack and Monmouth Park has been completed.

According to a story on northjersey.com, the deals came Tuesday night after more than nine hours of negotiations at the Meadowlands between Standardbred and Thoroughbred racing officials, as well as New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority executives.

Tom Luchento, president of the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey, told northjersey.com that Jeff Gural and his partners would take over responsibility of expenses at the Meadowlands today, with a transition period of management with the sports authority, ending Sept. 1.

Morris Bailey and his partners will take over operations at Monmouth Park, which is running its summer-long Thoroughbred racing meet.
