East Rutherford, NJ — The Meadowlands’ Thursday Pick Four pool will be guaranteed at $50,000 beginning Jan. 20.

Offered nightly on races six through nine, the Pick Four is a must-bet with its low 15 percent takeout, high return rate and guaranteed pools ($50,000 Thursday-Friday, $75,000 Saturday). The average Pick Four payoff was $4,313 for the 2010 season. The record is $70,446, paid out on March 26, 2010.

New video feature: Silverman returns to the sulky

Meadowlands Racetrack’s newest video feature celebrates the return of driver Richie Silverman, who was sidelined for six months by injuries he suffered in a racing accident last summer.

The most severely hurt of the six drivers involved in the spill on June 18, 2010 at the Meadowlands, Silverman fractured both of his ankles and sustained a severe concussion after launching 20 feet into the air, landing on a fallen horse and then having his sulky land on top of him. After a lengthy physical rehabilitation process, he returned to the sulky on Jan. 8 at the Meadowlands.
