Miller wins eight at Northfield on Saturday

Northfield, OH — Four days after Cleveland set a record with a high in the 80s, several inches of snow fell during Saturday’s (April 7) card, making it that much harder for the driving colony to see Brett Miller.

Miller won five of the night’s first six races and ended up with eight wins on the 13-race card.

His only early defeat came in the $9,500 Invitational, when Ryan Stahl and Oozie’s Bad Boy held off Perfect Door after opening up a big lead around the final turn. At the wire, the gelded son of Badlands Hanover was a half length the best in 1:54.2 over a surface rated good. Steve Cetinsky owns the winner, who is trained by Mike Weller.

Despite the conditions, every pacing event was timed in 1:57.3 or less.
