Ft. Washington, MD — Several 2- and 3-year-old pacers and trotters, as well as seasoned veterans, graced the Rosecroft Raceway oval on Wednesday morning (June 20) in qualifying races, and there were many standouts among the 15 races.

Luis Porfilio’s Graceful Art picked up her second consecutive baby race win over the fast Maryland oval. Porfilio guided the freshman daughter of Arturo to a wire-to-wire score in 1:57.2. Last week, she won in similar fashion, stopping the timer in 2:00.3.

Tim Tetrick and Lennon Blue Chip rolled out of the pocket to edge out stablemate Fun Fiesta (George Teague) in 1:57. Fun Fiesta cut the mile and sprinted the back half in :56.3.

Tetrick also escorted the Conway Hall offspring Order By Lincoln to a win in 2:02.3. The trotter is co-owned by Rodney Mitchell and Teague. The same ownership saw the gorgeous Donerail colt Jealousy win in 2:02.2 in his first outing on the racetrack.

Another standout on the Wednesday morning card was Quick Thinker, a son of Glowing Tribute, who scored a pace-setting win in 1:57.1. Jim Morand drives and co-owns the colt out of the Warm Breeze mare Hera Hanover. Les Givens trains for owners Morand and the Nanticoke Racing Stable.

Nuclear Breeze, one of the early standouts in the winter racing season, returned to action by winning a qualifier on the front end in 1:53.1 with Richard Hans at his lines. Roger Hans trains for owner Tom Cooke.

Live harness racing returns to Rosecroft on Saturday (June 23) at 7:20 p.m., and Maryland Sires Stake action will be in full force.
