Latham, NY — Harness Horse Breeders of New York State and Tioga Downs are happy to announce that more added money will be available for the Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial Trot beginning with foals of 2006, which nominate as yearlings this year and race in 2009.

For the first time, the Filly Division will race for $25,000 in added money. The Open Division will race for not less than $50,000 in added money and the conditions allow that amount to be increased and announced before the first 3-year-old payment is due for this group. Tioga Downs management and the Southern Tier Harness Horsemen’s Association made these additional commitments to the event which is owned and managed by Harness Horse Breeders.

Nominations must be postmarked by Tuesday, May 15, and nominators should be aware that postage rates change the previous day. The fee is $50 for colts and $25 for fillies. Payments should be made out and mailed to Harness Horse Breeders at 400 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham, NY 12110.
