Mysparklindiamond outshines best boys in Minnesota

from Running Aces Harness Park

Columbus, MN — Mysparklindiamond, the only filly in the race, bested four Minnesota-sired geldings to capture the “Gopher State” Class A Pace at Running Aces Harness Park on Monday night, June 9.

Leading driver John DeLong was content to travel along the pylons near the rear of the field before unleasing a powerful stretch drive to just nip Sammy Kankan (Bob Lems) with Whata Blue Boy (Rick Magee) third in 1:58.1.

It was the fifth win of the season for the Susan Schroeder trainee owned by Brandon Jenson. The daughter of Heavenly Favored broke her pari-mutuel maiden on April 25 and has worked her way up the ranks with four wins in seven starts since.

The open division Class A pacers were also in action on Monday night and Expresso Forte (Joey Mapes) and Tattler’s Jet (DeLong), the co-track record holders, put on their usual great show.

For the second straight week Expresso Forte was a winner, getting the best of the favored Tattler’s Jet by a head in 1:57.2 after a pedestrian halfway clocking of 1:00.4. West Bound Train (Magee) was less than two lengths back in third.

Expresso Forte belongs to Charter Bryant.
