Ft. Washington, MD –– Nuclear Folks is back in the field of eight pacing mares scheduled to face the starter in the $7,400 Winners Over handicap on Thursday evening at Rosecroft.

The six-year-old Nuclear High mare, owned by Thomas Cooke, won her two previous starts in the Winners Over division on the Rosecroft oval. Last week, with regular driver Donnie Russell in the bike, the Roger Hans trainee scored a wire-to-wire win from the outside post in 1:55.4 as the 3-5 choice.

Nuclear Folks heads to the gate in post seven for the handicap at 7-2 morning line odds, with rival Lofty Limits on the outside in post eight.

Coming into this race off of a scratch, Lofty Limits currently has a 2005 record of 4-2-2 across the board from nine starts. Trained by George Bartlett, she has been consistently competing and winning against this classy group of mares.

Reinsman Billy Long will guide the seven-year-old Walton Hanover mare who opens on the board at 4-1. George Bartlett and Alvin Mindel own the 2004 Rosecroft Horse of the Year.

One to watch is Richard Hans’ Look Ma No Hans, who will be starting from post two at 8-1 odds with Rosecroft’s leading driver John Wagner in the sulky.

In last week’s edition of the Winners Over, Look Ma No Hans had plenty of pace in the stretch but was blocked by slowing horses at the wire. The four-year-old Artiscape mare earned a minor award with a fourth place finish, but came home with a swift final quarter of :28.2. She currently has four wins on her card from 11 starts.

Scarlet Brocade, trained by Franklin Gannon III, will go off as the 3-1 early choice from post six in front of driver Jonathan Roberts. The eight-year-old daughter of Big Towner, owned by Joan Gannon and Franklin Gannon, Jr., has carded over $325,000 in lifetime earnings and continues to be competitive in the Winners Over class. She wired to a win in 1:55 last week in the non winners division at Rosecroft as the even-money choice.

Full Dance Card (Jackie MacLeod), Angela Gold N (Frank Milby), Don’t Curse Me (Cliff Green) and Kehms Becky (Brian Burton) complete the field.

Rosecroft’s nine race Thursday slate will begin with a first post of 7:20 p.m.
