NYSS champ Hay Goodlooking to race at Vernon

Vernon, NY — The 2008 New York Sire Stakes champion, Hay Goodlooking, will make his third start of the year at Vernon Downs on Saturday night, June 6.

Trainer-driver Gates Brunet will be back in the sulky after missing the Empire Breeders Classic Final drive with back problems on May 24 at Tioga Downs. Stephane Bouchard was the pinch driver for Gates in the Empire Breeders Classic and managed a third place finish behind Hypnotic Blue Chip and Redneck Outlaw.

Hay Goodlooking will leave from post position number seven in a $5,500 conditioned event on Saturday night. The 3-year-old son of Art Major-Monique’s Legacy has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite for the seventh race event. Hay Goodlooking’s career resume reads seven wins, one second, and one third in 11 lifetime starts for earnings of more than $218,000.

Vernon Downs kicks off its three day race schedule with a nine-race card on Thursday, June 4, followed up by a ten-race program on Friday, June 5, and a 12-race card on Saturday, June 6, all with a post time of 6:55 p.m. For more information on Vernon Downs visit www.vernondowns.com.
