Lebanon, OH — Saturday night’s (May 2) card at Lebanon was highlighted by four divisions of 3-year-old colt pacers and three divisions of 3-year-old colt trotters competing in the Ohio Sires Stakes.

In the first division of colt pacers, longshot Dance With Dan ($26.60, $5.60, $4.20) established a new lifetime record of 1:55.4 for trainer/co-owner Kent McGee and Charles Minger. Rodney Bolen was the winning driver, as he pulled first up on the favorite Osborne’s Yankee and finished a head to the good. Osborne’s Yankee was second, while Romeo’s Touch finished third.

The trotting colts were next on the card. The Ronnie Burke trained My Mom’s Career patiently sat in the two hole behind favorite B Contemporary and then made his bid down the stretch. Winning by three-quarters of a length, My Mom’s Career set a new lifetime best of 2:00.3. My Mom’s Career was driven by Matt Kakaley. B Contemporary was second, followed by Master In Charge in third.

Worthys Magic came three deep through the last turn and battled head to head with both Uncle Josh and Sadies Legacy all the way down the lane to eventually come out the victor, pacing to a new lifetime mark of 1:58.2 in the second division of colt pacers. Driven by Dan Noble for owner/trainer Charlie Ross and Doug Ross, Worthys Magic finished a head in front of both second place finisher Sadies Legacy and the show horse Uncle Josh.

The second division of colt trotters found Rodney Bolen in the winner’s circle again, not only as the winning driver but as the winning trainer also. Bolen sent pre-race favorite Master’s Cook to the front and never looked back, stopping the timer in 2:01. Detective and New Riegel Star took the place and show positions.

Standupnkissme, who is trained by Jim Mulinix, was the 1-5 favorite in the third division of colt pacers. Sent right to the front by driver Jim Dailey, Standupnkissme never had another horse within a length of him as he cruised to a 3-1/4 length victory with the timer stopping in 1:56.3. Lima Honor finished second while Noah C was third.

1:56.3 was also the winning time of Cruzin Bayou in the final division for the pacing colts. The Chip Noble trained and driven Cruzin Bayou went wire-to-wire, setting a lifetime best record. Cruzin Bayou had the greatest win margin in the four divisions of colt pacers as he finished six lengths in front of Max’s Cruiser, who was second. Booze Cruiser was third.

The final division of colt trotters was a start to finish front end trip for Sun Of A Victory, trotting the fastest mile of the night in an impressive 1:59.2. Sun Of A Victory was capably driven by Robin Miller for trainer Doug Rine. Chips And Wings finished second followed by Chewey in third.
