Oneforthemaster is masterful in Open Trot

Northfield, OH — Todd Jones put Gary Reynolds’ Oneforthemaster in the pocket behind leader Pure Jesse and went by in the stretch to win Northfield’s $8,000 Open Handicap Trot in 1:56.4 on Monday (July 23).

Pure Jesse posted fractions of :28.3, :58.3 and 1:27.2 before yielding. Favored Lucca’s Revenge, assigned the outside after two straight wins, rallied from far back at the quarter, flushing Blastaway Sahbra, who then took a seat third and left the eventual show finisher “out raw” from there.

Oneforthemaster won for the fourth time in 16 seasonal starts and pushed his career bankroll to $98,965. Dan Reynolds trains the 5-year-old Master Lavec gelding.
