Campbellville, ON — A convoy of 3-year-old colt trotters will invade Mohawk Racetrack this Sunday night (May 20) for the first Ontario Sires Stakes Gold eliminations of the season.

A total of 35 colts will square off in a quartet of splits. The eliminations are part of Family Fun Night this Sunday at Mohawk with a huge fireworks show to follow the nine-race program which starts at 6:15 p.m.

The highly-rated Flirtin Man, who is undefeated in three starts this season, leads the way in the second elimination in race three. The son of Angus Hall-Flirtin Victory is a brother to Flirtin Miss ($486,950) and Pick Me Up ($380,050) and was a $92,000 yearling purchase at the 2004 Lexington Select Yearling Sale.

Michael Vanderkemp trains Flirtin Man, who will leave from post eight with Paul MacDonell doing the driving.

Trainer Ronnie MacLean will send out a pair of starters in Sunday’s eliminations, including Zorgwijk Hollander, who suffered his first loss of the season last time out at the hands of Flirtin Man. MacLean also has Nasty Dream in action, coming off a 1:58 victory at Woodbine in his seasonal debut.

As part of Family Fun Night, Mohawk will offer lots of things for the kids including a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, a bouncy castle, a $2.99 food special and an appearance by Sponge Bob Square Pants, just to name a few.

A massive fireworks show will follow the race card and is scheduled to get underway at 9:30 p.m.

A reminder that there is an early post time of 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
