Pair of claiming races headline Dover card

Dover, DE — Two $40,000 and one $25,000 claiming races, along with a $10,500 pace, lead the Thursday, January 22 program at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.

Generous GB, owned by Don Hawk, John Hynansky and trainer Dan Warrington, with Steve Warrington at the controls, and Rodney Mitchell’s Rhyall Hanover, driven by Kenny Mitchell, were the co-feature winners last week in this class.

They take on Virginia Fisher and Outten Racing Stable’s sharp Ronaldo N, with Jim Morand, Barry Franklin’s Painted Arrow, handled by Kevin Sizer, Wayne King’s Butter Free, Jim King, Jr. driving, and Howard Taylor’s Have A Good Life, piloted by Kevin Lare, among nine starters in the first of two $40,000 claiming paces.

The other contestants are Gangsta Rap, driven by Eddie Davis, Jr. for owners Jay Tarmon and trainer Jim Schlotzhauer, who drew the rail, with Lavros Whirlwind N and Ross Wolfenden starting from the second tier. Brad Hanners guides Cantwell Bridge Stable’s Bobbycrombie.

The other $40,000 claimer is led by Bob Warthen’s Wynfield Ownings (Steve Warrington) who missed by a nose last time and will be the favorite.

Roy Fisher and Brent Outten’s Highfield’s Boy N (Jim Morand), Armand Bernard and Arnold Witkin’s Jaccka Midnight N (Ross Wolfenden) and Eric Ell’s Armbro Tristen (Eddie Davis, Jr.) drew the inside posts with trainer-driver Roger Hammer’s JT Arturo in the second tier.

Bill Reepmeyer and Gene Leich’s Stealth Flyer (George Dennis), Ken Mitchell and Frieda Ivory’s Red Cloud Rising N (Kevin Sizer), Cantwell Bridge Stable’s Maverick Seelster (Brad Hanners) and Ron Waller and Nanticoke Racing’s Vested Hanover (Les Givens) complete the lineup.

The $25,000 Delaware claiming pace is led by Arty Foster’s Broderick Seelster (Steve Warrington), Brenda Teague’s The Stick Horse (George Dennis) and Brooks Stables’ Moe Knows (Kevin Sizer).

There is a $10,500 pace for four and five-year-old pacers on the card. Woody Long and T.A. Fleetwood’s Last Line Hanover (Kevin Sizer) is the lone last start winner in the field. Troubled Flight N, owned by Geraldine McClure and driver Steve Warrington, the Moffett’s Amandas Future (Billy Mann) and Brandon Givens and Lauren Saveikis’ Market Dreamer (Les Givens) were all second place finishers last time.
