by Keith Gisser, publicity director, Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Paint Creek Farms’ Palazzo Princess, undefeated in 2009, has been installed as the even-money morning line favorite in Saturday’s $101,700 Miller Lite Courageous Lady for 3-year-old filly pacers at Northfield Park.

She drew the rail in the eight-horse field. The daughter of Jate Lobell is four-for-four in 2009, with a lifetime best win of 1:52.4, fastest in the field, taken last month at The Meadows. Three-time defending local driving champ Aaron Merriman will drive the favorite. He currently leads all drivers in North America with 323 wins in 2009.

Singnoeveil Hanover, who drew post six, is the second choice at 4-1, while Cams Van Go is the 6-1 third choice, despite being saddled with the outside post eight.

Trainer Jim Arledge, Jr. sends two fillies postward in the race. Save My Shark, owned by the trainer in partnership with Joe Sbrocco and Frank Dettore, drew post three and is 8-1, while Goldfinger Enterprises’ Angel Of The West drew post four and is listed at 12-1.

Any patron paying the regular $1.75 grandstand or $3 clubhouse admission Saturday receives a free Northfield Park baseball cap. The Courageous Lady is the 12th race on the 14-race card at the harness track. Post time for the Miller Lite Courageous Lady is 11:05 p.m., with first race post at 7:00 p.m. (EDT).
