Pampered Princess to face the colts again

Columbus, OH — When the box closed this morning at The Red Mile for the Kentucky Filly Futurity, 17 sophomore trotting distaffers made their intentions to race in the $300,000 (est.) event on Friday, October 5. Noticeably absent from this group was Pampered Princess.

Although trainer Jimmy Takter had stated after Pampered Princess’ victory last Friday in a Bluegrass Stakes division that she would “probably go against the fillies” this week in Lexington, owners Bob and David Anderson have decided to give her another shot at the colts in Saturday’s $600,000 (est.) Kentucky Futurity.

It will be the third time that Pampered Princess will take on the colts this season.

In the Hambletonian, the daughter of Andover Hall-Bold Dreamer won her elimination in 1:53, then made a break in the stretch in finishing seventh placed six in the $1.5 million final.

Last month at Mohawk Racetrack, Pampered Princess was second to Val Taurus in her Canadian Trotting Classic elimination and second to Donato Hanover in the $970,000 CTC Final.

In her first start against fillies in more than two months, Pampered Princess was a 1:53 winner in her $91,000 Bluegrass division on September 28 at The Red Mile.

Pampered Princess has banked $804,021 in 2007 thanks to six wins and three seconds in 10 trips to the post. She has hit the board in 20 of her 22 lifetime starts, while earning $1,430,265.
