Pandy’s Picks: April 18 M

from harness publicists across North America

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on April 18, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, April 18, 2014

Saturday night I only had an $8 ticket, which wasn’t close. I have one hit so far this year for $1,144.50 on the whale ticket and no winners on the standard tickets. Meet totals: 40 plays, 0 hits, -$1,172. Whale ticket: 16 plays, 1 hit, -$2,922.50.

Standard ticket: $1 play: 12689/46/2348/5 = $40
Whale ticket: none

Analysis:

Race 7: Wide open race but I’ll use five — 1, 2, 6, 8 and 9.

Race 8: Another competitive race, but I’m going to try my first and third choices, (6) Pardon and (4) Miss Machqueen. Pardon was David Miller’s choice over another contender here and Miss Machqueen steps up after winning under wraps.

Race 9: Very tough race to handicap. I’ll try all four of my contenders — 2, 3, 4, 8.

Race 10: Another tough race to handicap. (5) Nutmegs Cider should be forwardly placed. I’m going to single this one, and it’s a weak single, but I have to take a stand somewhere or the ticket will be too costly.
