by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on April 22, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, April 22, 2016

Saturday night I had three out of four again, minus $14. Meet record on Pick 4s: Standard ticket, 23 plays, four wins for $420.25 total. Bottom line for meet, +$123.80, Whale ticket, two plays, – $92.

Standard ticket: 50-cent play: 310/156/56789/25 = $30
Whale Ticket: 50-cent play: none

Analysis:

Race 7: (10) Appomattox drops and is the best trotter here but draws post 10. I’m going to throw in (3) Fashion Creditor, a 4-year-old who had a fast win over this track last year and makes his second start off the bench while dropping in class.

Race 8: (1) Uva Hanover hasn’t raced since February but he was racing against tougher and trainer Linda Toscano can get them ready off a layoff. I’m also using the two obvious in-form trotters, (5) Rock Of Cashel and (6) B Yoyo, who finished within a neck of each other against similar.

Race 9: This is the toughest race of the sequence so I used all four of my listed contenders, 5, 6, 7, 9, plus (8) Commentary, who made my list of horses to watch after winning gamely in first start off the claim.

Race 10: (2) Mc Tiny’s Hope lost as the lukewarm favorite in last but was shuffled back. Tonight she drops to the bottom level and should be tough. I’m also using (5) Royal Malinda who ships in after racing at Yonkers and Pocono.
