Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on April 4, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, April 4, 2014 I had two of four Saturday so my $36 standard tickets lost. I have one hit so far this year for $1,144.50 on the whale ticket and no winners on the standard tickets. Meet totals: 36 plays, 0 hits, -$1,080. Whale ticket: 14 plays, one hit, -$2,722.50. Standard ticket: $1 play: 689/36/159/14 = $36 Analysis: Race 7: Wide open handicap pace. I’m using (6) Coffee Addict, who is sharp, and dropdowns (8) Belle Boyd and (9) Major Look. Race 8: Wide open race. I’m using two, (3) Sim Brown off the drop and (6) Double Bundy N, who is not my second ranked pick but may be some value. Race 9: You could easily use five horses here but I’ve narrowed it down to three — (1) Sir LB’s Z Tam, needed last, drops; (5) Dragon Princess on a drop; and (9) Shawnee Dancer, tough trip in last. Race 10: The entry goes for Burke, who has been in a slump here, but both of these have speed. I’m also using my top pick, (4) Merited Victory, a veteran trotter that won off a layoff last week.
