Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 8-11, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018

Remember that my full-card Meadowlands picks are available on the handicapping page on the www.ustrotting.com website. And today’s races start at 12 noon. I had two of four last night. Meet totals, 7 for 56, plus 97.25. Note, if one of my Pick-4 picks is scratched prior to the start of the Pick-4 betting, the next ranked horse in my regular Meadowlands selections that are on the USTA website becomes the replacement pick.

Today’s tickets: 50 cent play: 56/489/7,12/6,12 = $12

Analysis:

Race 8: In this first elimination for the Hambletonian, it’s a talented field. I’m going to try to get through it using two, (5) Wolfgang and (6) Crystal Fashion, both promising colts.

Race 9: This is another Hambletonian elimination. Some will single (9) Six Pack here, and that may be the smart play, but I’m going to include (4) Alarm Detector and (8) You Know You Do.

Race 10: (7) Scirocco Rob ships in sharp and I think he has a good chance to wire these. (12) Helpisontheway draws in the second tier but fits well here.

Race 11: (12) McWicked draws into the second tier but has been in wicked form. (6) Western Joe loves this track and should be forwardly placed.
