Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Friday, August 5, 2011

I hit the first three legs last night but didn’t have the $34 winner in the ninth race and was down $8 on the night. I have a profit of $129.40 on these Pick 4-plays so far this meet and I’ve hit three Pick-4s. I’ll stick with the game plan which is to keep the cost down and play small tickets. Tonight’s sequence looks pretty tough, but I’m sticking with a small ticket with two singles.

$2 play: 4/15/46/7 = $8

Analysis:

Race 6: (4) Zooming comes off a big effort and if he does anything like that tonight he’ll win easily at a short price. That was on July 22 so the extra time off may help him avoid a bounce.

Race 7: (5) MM’s Lionness seems to be figuring things out, ships in from the Meadows and may go well at a price. (1) Beatgoeson Hanover disappointed in last at Pocono Downs but she has some class to her and can rebound.

Race 8: (4) McFlirty comes off another brave effort; you have to love this one’s grittiness. (6) Billie Bluechip picks up Sears and drops; key rival here.

Race 9: (7) Pantholops broke in last but she may break her maiden in this wide open race where no one sticks out. This is a weak single but in this race anything can happen and I’m not going to use 10 horses so I’ll just use one and take my chances.
