Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $75,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Dec. 21, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.
Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013
Last night I played a $24 ticket, my first of the meet. I had the first three winners including my single in the ninth and then in the 10th both of my horses broke stride and a 25-1 shot won. Ouch.$1 play: 15/67/136/9 = $12
Analysis:
Race 7: Very tough race to start off the sequence. (1) Chicago Hanover has good recent form. (5) Code Word is also sharp and handles this track well.
Race 8: (6) Panesthetic finds himself in a good spot tonight and seems ready to win. (7) Mortal Zin drops and has a touch of class.
Race 9: I have to go three deep in this contentious race. (1) Morgan Shark comes off a layoff but his qualifiers look sharp for Burke barn. (3) Erle Dale N finished second at this level over the track three back and was first over in a fine effort at Yonkers in last. (6) Relentless G has had outside posts at Yonkers in his last three starts. Driver Scott Zeron has been popping longshots in his first meet here.
Race 10: I singled a Burke horse last night and he won. I’m going to single (9) Major Tipper here. The Burke-trained gelding comes off two snappy qualifiers.
