My $40.50 ticket won and returned $289.60 Saturday night. It’s a good thing that I used my top three contenders in each race because in races eight, nine, and 10, my third-ranked pick won. In the 11th, my top pick won. Meet record: 16 Pick-4s, three won, 13 lost, plus $356.45.

50-cent play: 146/47/8/1457 = $12

Analysis:

Race 7: (1) Walks Of Life has been chasing a horse that has dominated this claiming level here and Walks Of Life has finished second to that one four of his last five starts; one to beat. But I’m also using (4) Big CC’s Rock and (6) Forevernalways.

Race 8: (7) Max Volo and (4) Blue And Bold are my choices in this wide open trot, but there are no stand outs.

Race 9: (8) Gloria Pierre may have a class edge here if she shows up with anything close to her best.

Race 10: This is a wide open pace. I’m using all four of my listed contenders, 1, 4, 5, 7.
