Pandy’s Picks: Jan. 19 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Jan. 19, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012

I didn’t hit Saturday night, minus $12, which brings the total to minus $76 for the first five nights. I had a good night but the race that seemed the most wide open, the sixth race, foiled me. I used three horses and didn’t have the winner. In the seventh my single, Splendid Kisser, won and paid $3.80, and I had the other two winners at $5.60 and $12.20. But three out of four doesn’t count.

$1 play: 78/258/48/2910 = $36

Analysis:

Race 6: (7) My Man had a tough trip in last and held well but I’m also using (8) Cora Louise, who broke in first start over the track but had strong form at Chester and Pocono.

Race 7: (5) I Luv It will probably be the favorite here, finished her season off in sharp form at Chester. (8) Ladybones qualified well and (2) Moving Art comes off a game uncovered two move effort at Yonkers.

Race 8: The obvious single here is (4) Cruzin Angel, who appears too fast for these but she broke in last when a heavy favorite. I’ll include (8) Lizas Pride; she comes off an improved front running effort against the track bias.

Race 9: I used three trotters here. (9) Tango Dancer is my top pick off a key driver change from the owner/trainer to Andy Miller. (2) Tampico has won over the track and (10) Mystical Con is the one to beat despite post 10.
