Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014
Saturday I played a $48 ticket which lost. I had the first three winners but not the last. On my big ticket experiment my $504 ticket also only had the first three winners. Meet totals: 12 plays, -430. Whale ticket: three plays, -$1,376.
Standard ticket: $1 play: 349/125/25/356 = $54
Whale ticket: $1 play: 349/12568/1234568/2356 = $420
Analysis:
Race 7: If I were going to play a smaller ticket, I would go with (3) On The Radar and (9) Next Flight. Both drop and have some class. But I’m also using the morning line favorite, (4) Contraband Hanover, who also takes that key drop from C-1 to C-2.
Race 8: I think I can get through with three here, (1) Freddy Day Hanover, (2) Sky Mesa and (5) Seek The Dragon. But on the whale ticket I used five because it’s the winter meet at the Big M.
Race 9: (2) Vlos was my pick last time and he went first over and gave way. This 10-year-old is a tough horse when right and he had missed a few weeks before last. (5) Spinarama takes that key drop to C-2.
Race 10: I like the ground that (5) Majestic Stone made up though the middle-half of the race last start and now he drops. I also used (3) Play Fair, droppping, and (6) Soapy Sap off a good effort.
