Pandy’s Picks: Jan. 3 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Jan. 3, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, Jan. 3, 2014

Last Friday I played a $72 ticket and only had one of the winners. Saturday I played an $18 ticket and I had the winners in the first three legs but my single missed in the 10th. Meet totals: four plays, -$126

$1 play: 269/3468/135/57 = $72

Analysis:

Race 7: Solid group of mares in this handicap. (2) Big McDeal steps up sharp and draws well. (6) Lorrie Please is my top pick off a monster parked-out effort. I’m sure some people will single this one here. (9) Ramalama comes off a win in the Yonkers Open and is hard to leave out.

Race 8: Very tough B-1 trot here. I like (4) World Cup but he does come off a sick scratch and hasn’t raced since November so I’m using my other contenders, (3) Cowgirl Hall, (6) Aisling and (8) Banker Volo.

Race 9: (1) Janie Bay made a huge brush in last and excusably tired. (3) Narancia Hanover has been sharp. (5) Sweet Like Candy qualified well and is new in the Burke barn.

Race 10: (7) Temple Of Doom should be sharper in second start off the layoff. (5) Ellisarro Hanover is in good form.
