Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, July 10, 2015

Last week there was a $104 winner in the sequence on Friday and a $149 winner on Saturday. Tough. I didn’t need a lot of combinations to play tonight’s sequence so I didn’t use Ticketmaker, just playing a standard ticket for $16 to keep the cost low.

I’m going to try something different. On some plays, I’m going to use the DRF Ticketmaker to construct the tickets. Basically, the way it works, you rank your picks in each race according to A, B, or C, with A being your best picks. Then you tell Ticketmaker how much you want to spend and it automatically creates a ticket. This is a much different way of playing the Pick-4. Some tickets will be played more heavily than others, and overall it cuts down the cost of the wager.

Championship Meet totals: standard ticket, 14 plays, – $151.50; whale ticket, eight plays, one winning ticket for $53, -$144; Ticketmaker totals: two plays, -$84.

Analysis:

Race 7: I’m going to single (2) Witch Dali, who is my Best Bet tonight. She had a rough trip in last but showed speed and should be sitting on a peak effort with the drop in class and fourth start off a rest.

Race 8: This is an interesting trot. I’m using all four of my contenders, 2, 3, 7, 8.

Race 9: This is a 2-year-old filly pace. These tend to be more wide open than they look but I’ll try the two morning line favorites, 1 and 8.

Race 10: I’m using four here, 4, 5, 6, 7.
