Pandy’s Picks: July 24 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on July 24, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, July 24, 2015

Last Saturday night my $9.00 ticket only had one winner.

I’m going to try something different. On some plays, I’m going to use the DRF Ticketmaker to construct the tickets. Basically, the way it works, you rank your picks in each race according to A, B, or C, with A being your best picks. Then you tell Ticketmaker how much you want to spend and it automatically creates a ticket. This is a much different way of playing the Pick-4. Some tickets will be played more heavily than others, and overall it cuts down the cost of the wager.

Championship Meet totals: standard ticket, 17 plays, – $178.50; whale ticket, nine plays, one winning ticket for $53.00, -$196.00; Ticketmaker totals: two plays, -$84.00.

Standard ticket: 50 cent play: none
Whale ticket: 50 cent play: 346/57/57/14 = $12
DRF Ticketmaker tickets: none tonight

Analysis:

Race 7: Tough mares in this Open. (4) Radar Contact has been good all year, but did lose at 3-5 last week so I’ll also use (3) Katie Said and (6) Beach Story.

Race 8: (5) Rules Of The Road is logical but I’m including sharp shipper (7) Jewels In Hock.

Race 9: (5) Southwind Hope raced well in debut. (7) Hollywood Hill, my top pick, drops out of a stakes race.

Race 10: (1) True Blue Stride seems to be improving. (4) Libertarian is the obvious choice, beat similar in two of last three starts.
