Pandy’s Picks: July 5 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on July 5, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, July 5, 2012

I’ve hit four Pick-4s so far this meet, the highest paying $238 for $1 and I’m down $155 on the meet. Pretty tough sequence tonight.

For the championship meet I’m going to try more realistic, and more creative, tickets to see how that works out but be forewarned that even with much more of a spread, it’s still not easy to hit a Pick-4 at this track.

$1 play: 6810/2567/710/7810 = $72

Analysis:

Race 6: Wide open pace. I used three, (6) De Vins Girl and (8) Southwind Tyrant come off good efforts and (10) Art For Arts Sake takes a key drop.

Race 7: Wide open trot. I used all four of my contenders.

Race 8: Two-year-old maidens here and there are several ways you could go. I narrowed it down to two horses, (7) Pan Of Otusiders debuts for Erv Miller and he is good with firsters. (10) Cyclone gets post 10 for debut but prepped sharply over the track.

Race 9: Another wide open trot. I used a longshot, (8) Whimzical Britt, who add hopples and hails from a very good trotting barn, plus two other more obvious horses, (7) Melady’s Monet and (10) Sassy Syrinx.
