Pandy’s Picks: July 6 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on July 6, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Friday, July 6, 2012

I’ve hit four Pick-4s so far this meet, the highest paying $238 for $1 and I’m down $227 on the meet. I had a huge night last night. I picked $24.40 and $61.80 winners on top, both in the Pick-4, but there was also a $59 winner in the Pick-4, which paid a whopping $43,253.40. In the ninth race I also had the cold $254.60 exacta and the cold $1,995.40 trifecta. Tonight’s sequence is not as wide open as last night but not easy.

For the championship meet I’m going to try more realistic, and more creative, tickets to see how that works out but be forewarned that even with much more of a spread, it’s still not easy to hit a Pick-4 at this track.

$1 play: 45/610/268/25 = $24

Analysis:

Race 6: Good 2-year-old pace. I’m going with (4) Source Of Pride and (5) Ralbar but the race is wide open.

Race 7: (6) Autumn Escapade and (10) Beatgoeson Hanover both take key drops and are classy; I’ll use these two.

Race 8: I’m going to use my top three picks in this tough 2-year-old stakes race.

Race 9: (2) Swan In A Million is probably going to be a single on some tickets but my Best Bet tonight is (5) Proud Moment off the driver change to Tetrick, so I’ll use these two.
