Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Friday, June 22, 2012

I hit Saturday night, my fourth Pick-4 win this meet. The Pick-4 paid $238 for $1 and I now have a profit of $61. For the championship meet I’m going to try more realistic, and more creative, tickets to see how that works out but be forewarned that even with much more of a spread, it’s still not easy to hit a Pick-4 at this track.

$1 play: 1457/3467/12/1256 = $128

Analysis:

Race 6: Wide open trot. I’m going to use all four of my top contenders.

Race 7: Another wide open trot, so I’m using all four of my top contenders again.

Race 8: I’m going to stick with the two obvious classy horses here. (1) In Focus will reach millionaire status if he wins this off the drop. (2) Likeabatoutahell has always had a breaking problem but when he trots he is fast.

Race 9: Another wide open trot and I’m using all four. Based on class and speed, (5) Epic Tale appears to be the best trotter here but he hasn’t raced since October and broke in his last qualifier. Still, if you were looking for a single here, Epic Tale makes sense.
