Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on June 23, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, June 23, 2011 After 15 Pick-4s at the Meadowlands I’m down $330 and haven’t hit a Pick-4. Saturday night was a tough sequence as usual and I only hit two legs on a $24 ticket. I’m going to continue to keep the tickets small. Tonight’s looks pretty tough. $1 play: 346/468/28/3 = $18 Analysis: Race 6: I’m using three in this 3-year-old trot race and feel pretty comfortable although I left out a sharp Chester shipper but you can’t use them all. Race 7: (6) Meant To Be Me is the obvious favorite but he doesn’t win often so I used Pocono shipper (4) Thanks For Stoppin who gets a nice driver change and a drop in class, and (8) Tireman, another Pocono shipper that is dropping down. Race 8: This could be a tough one. (8) Ilia won her 3-year-old debut then raced against tougher in last two starts. (2) Lady Andover ships in for a hot barn. Race 9: This is a leg of The Perfect Ten series which features a 12 horse field and 10 cent superfecta with a 15 percent takeout, a wager that’s sure to be popular here. I singled the 3 horse, Life Of Ease, who goes first off the claim by the Lightning Lane Stable off a fine first over placing behind Real Platinum, who draws post 12 here. This race could prove chaotic though.
