Pandy’s Picks: June 4 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $75,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on June 4, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Saturday, June 4, 2011

After 8 nights at the Meadowlands I’m down $210 and haven’t hit a Pick 4. I’ll keep plugging away with modestly priced tickets.

$1 play: 39/34/28/78= $16.00

Analysis:

Race 6: (9) Sheer Desire is the obvious dropdown favorite and I’m using Takeshigemichi (3), a drop down for Pena.

Race 7: I’m using a longshot, Iam Bonasera (4), and the favorite, Foreign Officer (3). Iam Bonasera has ability, is from a top barn and makes third start of the year, should improve.

Race 8: Wind Me Up (8) looks tough off the sharp qualifier but I also took a shot with my top pick, Go Go Solano (2). I liked Go Go last week but he never really got into the race while finishing steadily from post 7.

Race 9: This is a tough race because there is no solid recent form over the track. Indian Giver N (7) is not the most consistent horse but he qualified well for a sharp outfit and he has the backclass to handle this type. I have a lot of confidence in trainer Joe Anderson, so there’s a good chance Indian Giver N is ready. Froggy Turner (8) finished well in a pretty good field last week and he may be live at a price.
