Pandy’s Picks: June 9 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on June 9, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, June 9, 2011

After nine nights at the Meadowlands I’m down $218 and haven’t hit a Pick-4. Saturday night I had Iam Bonasera as a top pick in the sequence and he paid $24.60 and I had the cold $92.60 exacta. But I missed the winner of the first leg. One of my horses was scratched so it was only an $8.00 play. Tonight I’m using a single then two in the seventh, two in the eighth, and five horses in the ninth. I’m also playing another ticket using a single in the ninth. Total of two tickets is $24.

$1 play: 4/27/36/123910 = $20
$1 play: 4/27/36/10 = $4

Analysis:

Race 6: (4) Four Corners had sharp pace on both ends in first start off a short layoff and trainer George Teague’s horses have been firing here. I’ll single this one.

Race 7: (7) Rock’em looked rock solid in first local start for high percentage trainer making two moves from post eight and finishing in :26.3 for the win. (2) Smile A Little chased the sharp favorite, lost cover and held gamely in a quick mile first time over the track and may have found his niche on a one mile track.

Race 8: (3) Sugar Queen Gabby raced well from post nine in a race she probably needed. (6) Toocloseforcomfort beat a good field in last at Pocono and raced well in two prior starts over this track.

Race 9: (10) No Shenanigans would be a potential single if not for post 10. He drops, took his mark over this track, moves into a good barn, and picks up Tetrick. I’ll single him on one ticket. I have to use four others here. (1) Sir Sisu picks up Sears while in improving form, (2) Four Star Tommy has some class and drops, (3) Power Surge chased faster here two back, and (9) Lord Terror comes out of a quick mile.
