Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on May 27, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

Meadowlands $50,000 Guaranteed Pick 4, Races 6-9, Friday, May 27, 2011

After 5 nights at the Meadowlands I’m down $136 and haven’t hit a Pick 4. Tonight’s sequence is wide open again. I’m going with a small ticket even though it’s wide open.

$1 play: 237/4/678/68= $18.00

Analysis:

Race 6: I’m using 3 in this wide open race. In last week’s 4yo Preferred pace for mares the first quarter went in a slow :28 and that took a lot of them out of it. Best Boss is capable on best. Cannae Cammie ships in sharp from Yonkers. Horses that come out of the mile and a sixteenth distance at Yonkers should have the needed conditioning to handle the big track. Ticket To Rock may leave this time.

Race 7: Habanero won two back then rallied from post 10 in last. I’m going to single the 11 year old as he shoots for win number 58.

Race 8: Tough race. Orphan Annie may have needed last and didn’t have a good trip when shuffled back. Shayna Baby tired in last at Chester but the track was sloppy. She has done well at this track. Still Electric was in tough in the Open at Harrington last time but she handles this track and drops for a sharp barn.

Race 9: I decided to go with two here, Coco Lindy has some back class and ships in for sharp trot trainer Frank Antonacci. Konchie drops for the Pena barn.
