Pandy’s Picks: Oct. 8 Lex

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $10,000 Pick-4 at The Red Mile on Oct. 8, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

Red Mile Pick-4, Races 6-9, Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011

$2 play: 246/5/35/2 = $12

Analysis:

Race 6: Pretty tough race to start off the sequence. I’m going to eliminate the morning line favorite here and use three horses. (4) Land D’s Taylor was used brushing into a quick pace in first over the track. (2) BJ’s Mayreau finished first in last but was taken down after causing interference on a break. (6) Nina Coleada had pace on both ends in last.

Race 7: (5) Powell Blue Chip had solid trot to win here last week and can keep improving. I’m going to single her.

Race 8: There are three sharp colts here but I’m going to use two of them. (3) Ezpass Hanover held well in a fast race last time and won four straight PA Sires Stakes races in prior starts. (5) Bolt The Duer has won four in a row, all over this track.

Race 9: (2) Shakerattlenrock disappointed at 6-5 in first over the track but he was used hard to get the lead from post eight in that race. The Metro Consolation winner should be tough to beat here and I’ll single him.
