Peaceful Way, the third-ranked horse in the weekly Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, and Hellava Hush, the fastest older trotter of the season, lead a 10-horse field for Saturday’s $250,000 American-National for older trotters at Balmoral Park in Chicago. Also entered are Dunkster, Elegant Man, Hez Striking, Justice Hall, Mohammed Mali, Mr Mackintosh, Mystical Sunshine, and Rose Run Fastball. Elimination races were not needed.

Trained by Dave Tingley, Peaceful Way has won eight of nine races this year and earned $545,804. She is coming off a victory in the Allerage on October 8 at the Red Mile. She also has won the Breeders Crown, Armbro Flight, and Classic Series final. Hellava Hush, trained by Bill Gallagher, has won five of 20 races and earned $495,220. His time of 1:51 in winning the Nat Ray is the second fastest of the year, trailing only the 1:50.3 clocking by three-year-old Strong Yankee. He, too, is coming off a win in the Allerage.

Also to be contested on Saturday will be the American-National for three-year-old pacing fillies. The entry box closes Tuesday for that race.
