The great trotting mare Peaceful Way will grace the Balmoral racing surface on Saturday night as she takes on nine other older trotters in the $250,000 American National Aged Trot.

Checking into town as the number three rated trotter in all of North America this amazing four-year-old will be looking for her ninth win in 10 starts this season. The only blemish on her record came in the Maple Leaf Trot when she made a break going to the half but wound up being declared a non-starter in that event due to a problem behind the starting gate.

After winning 11 of her 15 starts and earning over $600,000 during her sophomore campaign this daughter of Angus Hall returned to the track just as sharp this season winning her first seven starts of the season. Included in those victories were wins in the $250,000 Distaff Classic at the Meadowlands and the $250,000 Breeders Crown Mare Trot at Mohawk. In her latest triumph, Peaceful Way made it look like a stroll in the park as she cruised home to an easy win in the Allerage at the Red Mile.

David Tingley who also owns a part of this great champion handles the training duties for the partnership of Goin My Way Stable, Mkatz Alibfeld Sgoldband & A. Tiller. “Trottin” Trevor Ritchie will be in to drive and Peaceful Way will start from post position two.

Joseph Chnapko’s Hellava Hush is North America ‘s fastest aged trotter this year with a mark of 1:51 and he is the close second choice in the wagering at 7-2.

Fresh off an impressive come from behind score in the $226,000 Allerage Stake at the Red Mile, this son of Lindy Lane is enjoying a huge 2005 campaign. In 20 trips postward, the Bill Gallagher trainee has put together a record of 5-5-4 with earnings of over $495,000.

The altered five-year-old is also familiar with the winner’s circle here at Balmoral Park as he captured a Hanover Stake here during his sophomore campaign. Coming into tonight’s test with a career bankroll of $972,829 Hellava Hush can eclipse the coveted $1 million mark in career earnings with a top three finish in this race. Others who must be considered in this battle are Mary Katz, Kevin Thomas, Berto Stable and Nathan Funk’s Justice Hall, a career winner of more than $500,000 who won a Hanover Stake here last season; Alvin Jacobson & Sidney Korn’s Mystical Sunshine, a four-year-old mare who can also go over the $1 million mark in career earnings with a top three finish; and Dean Davis’ Dunkster, who owns an amazing 22 victories over the past two seasons.

Completing the field for this American National are Rose Run Fastball, Elegant Man, Hez Striking, Mohammed Mali and Mr. Mackintosh.
