Cal Expo racing analyst Gregg Pistochini offers his picks for the $10,000 Pick-4 at Cal Expo Raceway on May 19, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program. Cal Expo Raceway Pick 4, Races 6-9, Thursday, May 19, 2011 Every Thursday night through the end of the current meeting, both Pick 4s feature a reduced 15 percent takeout and the Late Pick 4 comes with a $10,000 guaranteed gross pool. I have put together a $48 ticket for Thursday’s Late Pick 4, which begins on the sixth race. $1 play: 2367/27/12/279 = $48 Analysis: I use four horses in the sixth race opening leg with Ailene’s Prince (2), Bit O Lavec (3), Try This (6) and Franky Provolone (7) kicking off the sequence. In the second leg and third leg I go two deep, with Moximum (2) and Dragon’s Breath (7) in the seventh race and Mr Friendly (1) and Miss In Love (2) in the eighth race. I finish off my ticket using Code Blue (2), Goose Lips (7) and Dancing Barry (9).
